Android Auto issue

Hi all,
First post here. Really appreciate seeing all the previous threads. Got a couple of android auto issues.

I have a 2022 karoq I bought last year which I love and this is my first experience of using android auto. Previously, when I received a text I used to be able to have it played to me and out of the blue this facility stopped working. Both android auto and whatsapp have the latest update on my phone, and to aid trouble shooting my wife has an iphone and when she connects she can still have messages played to her. Any ideas? In case relevant - the car was last serviced at a skoda garage a year ago, though I now use my local mechanic so didn't know if there may have been a software update I have missed out on...

The less annoying niggle I suspect may not be solvable - when I go to call someone from my favouties it always now asks if I want to call over whatsapp or the phone which is frustrating as I never want to call over whatsapp and it means an extra step I would prefer to avoid. On my phone the favourites are defaulted to a normal call. Any workarounds?
