I have been looking for a new car for around 18 months. I tend to change infrequently (had the last one almost 10 years from new) and had a very specific set of needs and some wants. I needed an auto and a tall car as I have been suffering with arthritis for the last few years which is slowly getting worse so getting in and out of lower cars is painful. I also wanted a petrol and didn't want a hybrid. I also wanted as few gizmos as possible (other than cruise control) and as small alloys as possible (for comfort).

So the Karoq SE Edition fit the bill perfectly. So just before Christmas we picked up a beautiful pearl black Karoq and it was perfect.

That was until just over two weeks later I got in and the infotainment screen was blank. This also means the reverse camera/sensors didn't work, radio, satnav, speed warnings etc etc don't work.

So back to the dealer on 17th January. Was given a Scala initially as a courtesy car and a few days later after a lot of tooing and froing I got a manual karoq.

The upshot is I have been told that the part thats wrong with it is a J794 control module and they have no idea when they will be able to get one in.

I have been very patient and really want the car back as other than the fault it is perfect. So its now nearly two weeks later and the question is what to do next? How long do I give it and should I be making them aware or giving an ultimatum of rejecting the car with all of the hassle that that entails?
