Hi,

This evening I noticed when locking my car that the drivers door alarm light (that normally starts flashing red straight away) was going a solid red for roughly 10 seconds before it started flashing like normal. Unlocked and locked the car a few times and the same thing happened every time. As I said normally it starts flashing straight away. Does anyone know why this is happening/ is this something to be concerned about?

Thanks

What model and age is your car?
I assume you mean the alarm tell-tale on the dashboard. You mentioned 'door' , The door has nothing to do with the alarm light apart from the fact that the car must be locked of course to arm the alarm.
My Skodas all (from memory) went solid then started flashing. I think this is the norm. Certainly does on my Kia.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply! It’s a 2020 Karoq SEL. By door I meant that on top of the drivers door, on the inside next to the window there is a light that starts flashing red when the car is locked. (Or rather it’s started flashing right away over the 4 years I’ve owned the car) but yesterday this was shining a solid red for roughly 10 seconds before flashing like normal. The owners manual says that if this light shines constant red for 30 seconds before flashing slowly then there may be a fault with the central locking. I seem to be in a bit of an halfway house. Do you reckon I’m just overthinking it or is it worth getting looked at.
Thanks

Sorry, I misconstrued!
I don't remember any of my Karoqs having lights on the doors. But then at my age lots of things are getting blurred! :?
