Hi,

Karoq SEL auto 3k miles just bought used. Bridgestone turanza tyres.

I hear a noticeable resonant hum between about 60 and 70 mph. Pretty loud. Speed not RPM related. Goes away once above this speed and also below this speed.

Is this something else others have noticed? Likely to be specific to the tyres, or something else?

Thanks.

Could be tyres or road surface. Does it occur on all types of surface? What make/model tyres are fitted?

Interesting that yours has Bridgestone Turanza tyres as mine came on Bridgestone Duelers. These can be pretty noisy depending on the road surface, but otherwise perform well. As Colin says, does the noise vary on different surfaces? Otherwise it could be a body panel vibrating, but I've had no problems like that on my car.

Could it be the 2 cylinder ECO mode cutting in? I get a resonant sound from the exhaust when this occurs.

Hey Karrie, Did you ever get this sorted? It's been over a year since you reported it? I have a similar issue on my 1.5 TSI... Fingers crossed!

Mine has similar issue. The source is the engine/exhaust, not the tyres. How to tell? When the 'noise' occurs select S mode. If the 'noise' stops or changes you have your answer. How to fix it? Other than selecting S, I don't know. It's a resonance issue. Common complaint with 1.5 owners. Local dealer confirms this!!
