This sounds trivial but it really bugs me on my 2018 car. The plastic retaining 'straps' on the front doors are practically useless. They have a one detent (depression) that will hold the door open a crack so you can just squeeze through. But if you open the door beyond that point there is no resistance to wind or incline to prevent the door swinging wide open. It's a really dumb design. All other cars I have driven (a lot as an ex fleet manager) have either two detents, to give a second wider 'catch point', or the strap is designed to have sufficient friction that it will hold the door against wind/incline.
Has anyone found a DIY solution to this? Do later model years have an improved design that could be retrofitted?
