My better half owns a 2018 karoq and since buying it it has had th dreaded fuel flap stuck issue.
I couldn't find decent photos of how to remove the flap and get the actuator replaced so I have done it blind. In the drizzle. In the dark.
Rubbish photos I know (cheapo chinesium phone!) but hopefully they will help someone.
They show where and what the clips that hold the whole flap in are. There are 4 marks that are like a small minus sign indented in the inner flap moulding which show you where to pry, I found the bottom left one the worst one to get off but just slip a pry tool under the rubber outer edge and pry each corner off in turn.
There is a 2 wire cable connector on the actuator with the release tab round the back (seemingly only done to make the job of removing it harder) once this is released the entire flap should come out.
On the back the actuator is held in place with 2no T20 torx screws.
I found my replacement actuator had a red plastic emergency lock release cable which I hurriedly routed in the direction of the boot light through a hole in the inner bodywork. Not sure where this is meant to head but better than nothing I guess.
Hope it helps someone as I say I could find nothing useful apart from folks moaning that it was rubbish. Which it is. Even with the replacement actuator the flap still gets stuck most of the time, but it does make it a bit better.
