My Karoq is currently reporting code U029E, which means unable to communicate with NOx sensor B. There are no other fault codes reported.
I had a look at the sensor module and when I disconnected the 5-way car-side wiring connector (search for 4F0973705 to see what I'm referring to) some water came out and one of the holes showed corrosion.
I've cleaned it out as much as I can and have sprayed it with Deoxit and it is currently drying. Tests so far, however, still show the same problem; this might change later in the day as the Deoxit has an effect but I'm thinking about what to do if it doesn't change.
The easy and cheap first option is to cut off the original connector with the corrosion and put a new one on.
But is it likely that the actual sensor has failed? Should I anticipate spending £170 on a replacement?
NOx sensor failure?
