Lane Assist
Cannot work out if my car has Lane Assist or not ... if it has I want to be sure and turn it off. Cannot see any evidence of it in the Driver Assist section. Would this have been an option when the car was purchased new?

This was probably an option on your cars, but now it seems to be fitted as standard... and worse it will be activated each time you start the engine until you deactivate it! On my car it was fitted as an option, but at least it respects my decision not to use it and stays deactivated.

Someone I know has a VW Golf, and went to overtake a tractor on a country lane when it was totally clear ahead, and he said the car yanked him back again when he was well across the road, and was all he could do to stay out of the ditch! Seems a very dangerous technology to me if it can do things like that. Too "clever" by half.

I haven't got lane assist on my Karoq but had it on my previous car , a Ford Focus. As Ken says it disables once you indicate your intention. The force applied to the steering on the Focus was quite light, sufficient to stop you drifting out of lane but nowhere near enough to affect a determined move to change lanes.
TBH though. I still didn't like it, I tried it a couple of times to check how it worked and then turned it off. It's not something I miss on the Karoq!
