Afternoon all.

We have decided to bin our gas guzzling Subaru for a car a tad smaller, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better mpg yet a decent sized boot.

Narrowed that down to the Seat Ateca and the Karoq.

A few ?? later on faceache and we are leaning towards the Karoq as quite a few posters and online reviews say the Karoq is a bit more softer and comfortable and the Ateca a bit more sporty. Well now we are a certain age, comfort always comes first, besides I have an SLK and a motorbike for blatting around.

Deffo looking at the autobox as the Subaru is auto and we like that haveing had quite a few over the years.

Next up is engine size, not fixated on mpg so will probably go for the 1.5 tsi. Pretty much has to be a petrol as the vast majority of our trips are, 3 to 20 miles at a time, 3/4 days a week. max 4000 a year...

Have seen the word ACT a bit , are all 1.5 tsi engines this way?

Prob have a lot more ??? in the future...

Welcome Mr Kernow,
I think you are making the correct choice, as I have had 3 Karoqs, all 1,5 DSG.
brilliant car. driven sensibly you should get around 40-44 mpg.
I never had DCC so cannot comment I'm afraid. I had 2 SEL and 1 Sportline. The ride on the latter, with it's 19 inch skinny rubber is (IMO) awful. specially if you are a pensioner with a bad back (me) So much so that I invested in a set of 16 inch alloys with 55 ratio rubber which transformed the ride an did not affect the road holding.
I simply cannot understand the current fad of skinny tyres on SUVs . Skinny tyres on performance sports cars I understand, but on 'Sports Lorries'???

Test drove both a KAROQ AND ATECA yesterday. Didnt notice any difference in the ride as all I have read is how soft the K is and how sportier the A is?? We preferred the Ateca! OOps
