Hi all,
I have a 21 plate automatic Karoq, nearing the end of its 3 year Warranty period (in April).
The car recently started vibrating when driving at low speeds so I took it to Skoda to investigate. They've told me it's the multi-clutch, which has worn and requires replacement. Out of Warranty this would have cost circa £2000 so I dodged a bullet by taking it in straight away!
Surely the multi clutch shouldn't fail on a car this age with very average mileage. The only thing I can think of is if the car ran low on oil at some point depriving the clutch of the lubrication it obviously needs.
Has anyone else known this to happen?
Grateful for your thoughts/comments.

A 1.5 TSI will be using the DQ200 DSG which is a dry clutch!

Lack of engine oil should not affect the DSG clutches. They are separate components.

AA roadside service just told me my Clutch was completely burnt out on myKarog SE Drive, with only 8000 miles on the clock??? Is this still under Warranty ?
Messed up my holiday trip to Cornwall , travel just 230 from Sussex to Hampshire,
and the car completely stopped, even stalled on a level train crossing, very scary and very dangerous. The only warming I had was a slight smell just before the shut down of gear changes . The AA said it was my fault, I must have been resting my foot on the clutch pedal..I did NOT, been driving manual for years.
Now reading up on reviews, it seems this is a common problem with this model.
Would love to hear from other drivers who had the same issue, and what did they do to rectify. Also been quoted over $2000 for new clutch replacement, seems outrageous. Any help and advise would be welcomed.

£2000 (not $) is a ridiculous price for a clutch replacement. Get quotes (i assume you are out of warranty.)
Just another nail in Skoda's coffin as far as I am concerned. I loved all 8 of my Skodas and had no problems at all, but sadly VAG reliability has gone right down the pan across all makes, especially Audi and Skoda by the look of it.
Boy! Am I glad I jumped ship (call me a 'rat' if you wish!) when I did. Skoda will never get any more of my money. My dealer even admitted there was a problem wit Octavia hybrids 12V battery, constantly going flat. A friend do mine suffered this for 2 years. With Skoda Uk getting involved and his dealer trying multiple times to correct the fault wit no success.
After it was too late to refuse the car as not fit for purpose he bought a Corolla estate instead which of course is faultless.
